myHealth@myHands Plugathon in Vienna

From the 25th until the 27th of June, 2025, the myHealth@myHands Plugathon took place as part of the IHE Connectathon Week in Vienna, Austria.

The IHE-Europe Connectathon was a one-of-a-kind interoperability testing event where vendors and organizations validated the seamless integration of their systems.

Surrounding this central event, the Connectathon Week brought together a dynamic community and featured:

  • IHE-Europe Experience Days: A day and a half of engaging conferences that highlighted the latest advancements in health IT and interoperability.
  • Plugathon Tracks: Specialized sessions tailored for innovation leaders, blending hands-on testing with valuable educational insights.

You can find more information about the Connectathon here:

One track of the Plugathon was dedicated to myHealth@myHands. The goal of this track was to test and validate the patient-mediated exchange of health information developed by myHealth@myHands. Its main focus was put on ePrescription/eDispense using the EUID Wallet and providing testing and co-creation on the topic.

The Plugathon offered a unique opportunity for project partners to gather, test the solutions’ interoperability and collaborate on creating the best possible outputs for the project:

“These few days provided us a unique opportunity to explore the details of the wallet infrastructure, sitting at the computer together, writing codes, and getting better aligned. It was a great occasion at which we were able to achieve the work of several weeks in a few days.”
Zoltan Lantos
Department of Health, Ireland
“Connectathons and Plugathons are always good to get people in the room, to get the technical developers working towards the common goal so that the information can flow and the systems can talk to one another. It just gets that energy and creates that team spirits, so the likes of the Plugathon is that people around the room are working productively, working towards a common goal, and it solidifies the relationships in a close working environment.”
Eamonn Coyne
Department of Health, Ireland
“This type of interaction is priceless. We are not just performing tests, we are building awareness, we are building trust between all of us. And I believe that this setting will also help us for our upcoming activities carried out remotely.”
Alberto Zanini
Maggioli Group

We would like to thank all participants and organisers for this greatly enjoyable and productive week!
